Candy - Sweet Treats LP

Complete collection of unreleased and demo material from this mega obscure New York power pop/new wave outfit circa 1980.  Candy boldly declared "one taste and you're hooked!" and nowhere is that more true than their instantly infectious power pop masterpiece "My Kind;" it's a perfect slice of Cars/20/20/Real Kids style new wave snap, but the group took a variety of stylistic jabs, as evidenced by this collection.  Open this box of sweets and you'll find Sparks style quirk, hardcore Devo skronk, and even some KBD brashness.  Candy may never have gone past the local club circuit, or even committed their songs to wax in their time, but the quality of their songs and playing is nevertheless documented in full on this album.
