Description:
Double A-sider with The Prince Of Rudeness featuring The Upessions (aka The Judge Dread Memorial) on side A and The Rocksteady Conpiracy featuring Boss Capone at the other A side! A limited edition on green vinyl is available exclusively through AGGROSHOP.COM or the bands.
It was winter 2010 when The Upsessions met Flo at their backstage after having played a show in Vienna, Austria. Some of the Upsessions noticed that Flo looked very much like Judge Dread, the English reggae singer who passed away in 1998. The Upsessions, all being fans of Judge Dread, challenged Florian to sing some Judge Dread hits. And to their surprise his voice was unbelievably similar to the Judge Dread's voice.
Florian was renamed 'the Prince of Rudeness' and the rest is history; they toured Europe & Brazil, headlined several big reggae festivals, playing Judge Dread's biggest hits. Old Judge Dread fans and new reggae lovers danced together to the tunes, and soon 'the Prince of Rudeness & the Upsessions' built up a huge fanbase.
They decided the only thing still missing was a song of their own. So Boss van Trigt, songwriter of the Upsessions, grabbed his guitar and wrote '(what a) Big Thing' in less then five minutes. This new song was written in the typical 'Judge Dread' style, with melodic vocals and full or rude suggestions.
And here it is, on lovely 7 inch vinyl, recorded by the Upsessions and sung by the Prince of Rudeness, released by Aggrobeat Records. A tribute to the fantastic artist who passed away too soon, Alexander Minto Hughes, aka Judge Dread.
Dave Barker, Rico Rodriguez, Derrick Morgan, The Pioneers are just some of the artists the musicians of The Rocksteady Conspiracy supported as backing band at their concerts in Vienna, Austria in the early 2000s. Ten years later they decided to write songs of their own and founded The Rocksteady Conspiracy.
In 2022 they invited their friend Boss Capone to Vienna to hang out and have a good time (and lots of Schnitzel). Eventually they recorded 'Trouble & Danger'.
Format & package: 7" in fold out jacket. Available on black or limited neon green vinyl.
Record label: Aggrobeat Records
Year of release: June 2023
Tracks:
A The Prince Of Rudeness feat. The Upsessions - What A Big Thing
